In der Serie Fankultur geht es um Liebe, Loyalität und Fußball. Liebe zu seinem Lieblingsverein, Loyalität in guten und in schlechten Zeiten. Fußball.
Die Protagonisten sind Hobbyfußballer. Jungs von nebenan. Von mir nebenan. Eine Idee, ein Trikot, ein Slogan, ein Foto.

35mm Film verschießen ist ein Abenteuer! Die Ergebnisse eines Films lassen auf sich warten. Kein Kontrollblick auf das Display, kein zweiter Versuch. Eine Körnung, Staub und Kratzer beim Scannen, falsche Belichtung.
Genau das macht den Reiz des Ganzen aus. Nicht immer ist alles perfekt, aber Gedanken hat man sich vor nahezu jedem Foto gemacht. Eine ganz eigene Form der Auseinandersetzung mit Fotografie.

Shooting 35mm film is an adventure! It takes some time until you see the results of the film you shot. There’s no control screen, no second chance. Grain, dust and scratches after scannin, wrong exposure.
This is exactly what makes analogue photography unique. Not everything is perfect, but almost every photo is a result of previous thoughts about it. A very special form of dealing with photography.

“Die Beste Kamera ist die, die man bei sich trägt.” ist ein momentan häufig zitierter Satz. Im Grunde ist dem nichts hinzuzufügen. Ein iPhone mit seinen nahezu unerschöpflichen Möglichkeiten ein Foto zu schießen und es mit anderen zu teilen ist eine gute Sache und mein ständiger Begleiter.
Das Wissen darüber, jederzeit ein Foto quasi aus der Hosentasche schießen zu können, lässt mich das Alltägliche, das Normale ganz anders und viel bewusster wahrnehmen. Viele Dinge bekommen einen neuen, einen ästhetischen Wert für mich.

“The best camera is the on you have with you” is an often quoted sentence nowadays. Basically there’s nothing to be added. An iPhone with its almost infinite possibilities of shooting photos and sharing them with others is a good thing and my constant companion.
The awareness of the possibility to take a picture from your pocket so to speak helps me to see the daily, the normal through different much more intense eyes. Many things in my surrounding get a completely new, an asthetic value.

Ein Widerspruch in sich, dieses Porträt. So intim der Moment der Aufnahme, so exhibitionistisch doch sein eigentlicher Sinn. Eine Dreisamkeit: das Model, die Kamera, der Fotograf. Ein intimer Moment gebannt auf einem Foto. Doch nach der Veröffentlichung? Ein Akt des Exhibitionismus. Voyeurismus für den Betrachter. Was den Akteuren bleibt? Die Erinnerung an den intimen Entstehungsprozess.

A contradiction in itself, the portrait. As intimate the moment of the shooting was, so exhibitionistic its publication. Intimate three party interaction: the model, the camera, the photographer. An intimate moment banned on a photograph. But after its publication? An act of exhibitionism. Voyeurism for the viewer. What remains for the actor? The memory of an intimate process of creation.

Die Serie “drei Worte” zeigt Dinge, die mir in meinem täglichen  Leben begegnen, an sich aber wenig spektakulär sind.Die Idee hinter der Serie ist, diese Dinge in einer Form in Szene zu setzen, dass sie einen ästhetischen Wert entwickeln.Drei Worte sind ausreichend um einem Gegenstand neuen Glanz durch seine ohnehin vorhandenen Eigenschaften zu geben.Drei Worte, welche im Kopf bleiben.

The series “drei Worte” (three words) contains things, that appear to me in every day life, but which basically are nothing spectacular.The idea behind the series is, to present those things in a setting, that gives them an aesthetic value.Three words are enogh to give those things new glance according to their own characteristics.Three words that stay in mind.

Leidenschaft, Energie, Expressionismus, Freude, Schweiß. Einige Worte, die meine Auffassung von Konzerten beschreiben. Diese Schlagworte einzufrieren und einzufangen: eine Herausforderung. Drei Songs, kein Blitz! Die subjektiven Erinnerungen eines Konzertbesucher nachstellen: unmöglich. Die Erinnerung aufzufrischen und ihre eine Lebensdauer mit individueller Note zu geben: mein Ziel.

Passion, energy, expressionism, joy, sweat. Some word, that describe my perception of concerts. Freezing and catching these tags: a provocation. Three Songs, no flash! Impossible: re-create an individual’s memory of a certain concert moment. My aim: refreshing the memory and making it last with an individual touch banned on a photograph.
